THE VECTOR FRIENDLY
Some call him Naz and some call him busang came from a small city in Batu Pahat, Johore and started his passion of art in UiTM Malacca as graphic student. Currently on his way to complete his Degree in Graphic Design in Shah Alam. He is crazy about digital art especially vector. In his artwork always mix up with vector to shows that he really into vector art. His passion of art since in primary school and he always doing his own ‘satisfaction’ in his past time and sometimes he is doing some graphic work for his friend if they need a help.

Ummi-Mukminat Kamal or otherwise known as MinTy Kamal lives in Shah Alam in the heart of Selangor. Holds Diploma in Arts & Design (Graphics & Digital Media) UiTM Melaka 04-07. Pursuing BA Hons of Arts & Design (Graphics & Digital Media) UiTM Shah Alam 07-09 in final semester. Experienced her Internship at the Media Prima Berhad under Creative Service Department (May 2008 - July 2008). Added experience as a Research Asisstant at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Shah Alam.

Starts own label name 9teen86 Design and teaming up with peer designers just last year with Arts & Design Service & Related as main nature of business. 1^st experience to design, produce and ship a series of designs t-shirt to promote Malaysia to a cultural event held in UK. MinTy is one of the finalist for 2009 season of Nescafe Kickstart Entrepreneurship Edition. With a big mind in business, MinTy wish to conquer the market segmentation and to be well known for its management. Who knows if can reach to a higher level of worldwide possibly.

Besides good design, MinTy is passionate about good food and travelling. How she could just turn her dream to reality to travel around the world.

THE THINKER
She is an ecstatic and yet mind-boggling when she determines her future. Perhaps being perfectionist makes her win the title. She is Fatrisha Yussof who never gives up in whatever field she’s in. She believes fortune favors the brave. So nothing’s going to stop her from pursuing whatever she wanted. In her mind when there’s a will, there’s a way.

She hates of the word failure because she does not dream to be it though she prefer the word improving because it has always lead to positive consequences. Anyways she graduate from Diploma Graphic Design and also possessed Bachelor Degree of Art and design (Graphic Design and Digital Media).She is majoring of advertising.

She has highly interest in taking pictures, image editing, advertising, multimedia, singing, music, and collecting cool packaging. She’s capable of being independent and self-motivate. In her future she wishes to further her study and expand her knowledge in advertising and then become an outstanding art director.

STUDENT06: SALMI ZULAIKHA SALIM

Salmi Zulaikha Salim or, mostly known as Salmi, is very young, very stylish, very interesting, and very energetic person, that is what most people can describe for her. Come from small village in Kluang, Johor. Started off as graphic student at UiTM Melaka before realizing that graphic was a great inspiration source for her, to involve in graphic scene.

The thing is inspiration her is no limit. It comes from anywhere and anything. Whose know looking at her small appearance, she had a big dreaming, that she wants to be a part of the whole cycle in art field to fulfill the world.

THE POETIC ENVIRONMENTALIST
An environmentalist and a pasta lover, Ezarina Aziz or Exa is a graduate from Diploma of Mass Communication and mixed it up with Bachelors in Graphics with major in Advertising. She is fond of conceptual advertising, quirky images and videos, copywriting, artistic movies, crafty arts and practical designs. Exa also paints, draws portraits, and does short videos and montages.

Her therapies and escaptisms are poetry, lyrics, music, books, movies, video clips, and extreme sports. As an environmentalist and designer, she hopes to make the earth a greener place, and the world of art more colorful. She believes that the world needs more laughter, trees and parking space, and less discrimination and plastics.

THE DIGITAL ILLUSTRATIONIST
Photomanipulation is his soul, digital art in his blood. Design is his soul. Using Adobe Photoshop as his weapon, Graphic lover, Mohd Iqbal Hakim a.k.a boo has worked his magic the last 3 years in digital illustration, advertising, 3d and multimedia. Lives in Creative world on his own called Selayang Baru, Selangor. He really enjoys creating things that looks supernatural and surealism that come straight from his imagination.

He also has incredibly strong skills and is always improving. He gained his Diploma of Graphic Design in Uitm Malacca, and now on his way to complete his Degree in Graphic Design, Majoring In Illustration and Minoring Advertising. A CHIRPY ROCKER!
Adib Azfar is a funny person that comes with chirpy personality and known for his laughter from a far. Lives in the satellite city of Kelana Jaya in Selangor, and rocking the place for quite some time already and take it seriously when it comes to designing.

He gained his Diploma of Graphic Design in Johore Bharu Polytechnic, Johor in 2005 and now on his way to complete his Degree in Graphic Design, Majoring In Advertising. While making along his way in pursuing his degree, he had worked with some design companies such as A&O Advertising Solutions, IF Creative and Greenmelon Communications.

He plans to keep on going full throttle in the near future!

DESIGN DEGREE SHOW : A SIMPLE BRIEF

Every end of the semester, the Department of Graphic Design of the Faculty of Art and Design UiTM Malaysia welcomes hundreds of visitors to the annual Degree Show which showcases the final year graphic students' artworks within the design department.

This exhibition showcases the final artwork of the bachelor degree students of the university. The artworks will be enormously varied in accordance to the varying design expertise and experience of each group of students from different core modules such as advertising, illustration, corporate, as well as multimedia.

The work is also presented in diversified forms, from an assortment of evidence on research-based to practice-based, to prototypes, and finally to the finishing artwork.

This show is to encourage the students to redefine their own design practices and thus to ‘sell’ and directly introduce them to the industry. From their research, they are constantly encouraged to question the limitations and constraints of their own practices and consider other ways of working.

All of the students whose work are to be presented here have risen to this challenge with dedication and maturity, and should be commended as such.

WHY 'ESSENCE'?

'Essence' is the heart. The one that brings the beats and the one pumps the blood. It is a necessity and without it, the identity is lost.

And the 'essence' of Graphic Art and Design is the combination of advertising, multimedia, illustrations and corporate design. It is the utmost important fundamental of the body and the body is us, the loyal citizens of Graphic Art & Design. We eat, drink, sleep, think and dream it.

And now we proudly share it with you our essence.
